Acceptance of Terms

By using helocheck (the "Service"), you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. helocheck is provided as a diagnostic tool for checking SMTP mail server banners and capabilities.

Use of the Service

helocheck is a stateless diagnostic tool. You enter a mail server hostname and port, and the tool opens an SMTP connection to read the server's greeting and capability list. You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: diagnosing mail server configurations.

• You may only probe mail servers you operate or have permission to test.
• You may not use the Service to scan, enumerate, or probe networks without authorisation.
• You may not use the Service to collect credentials or sensitive data.
• You may not attempt to overload, abuse, or disrupt the Service.

Billing

Free Tier (Starter)

The Starter plan is free of charge. No payment information is required. The free tier includes SMTP banner probing on ports 25, 465, and 587, STARTTLS detection, authentication mechanism discovery, handshake timing, raw EHLO capability listing, and per-feature explanations.

Professional Plan

The Professional plan is priced at $9 per month per subscription. This is a recurring subscription billed monthly. A subscription covers one team seat and includes all Starter features plus: API access, bulk checks (up to 5 hosts per request), STARTTLS upgrade testing, and CSV/JSON export.

The Professional plan is not yet available for purchase. These billing terms describe what will apply when the plan launches.

Payment Terms

When the Professional plan becomes available, payment will be processed through Stripe. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis. Payments are due at the start of each billing period.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails (e.g. card expired or declined), access to Professional features will be suspended immediately. The subscription will be retried automatically up to three times over a period of 7 days. If payment cannot be collected after three retries, the subscription will be cancelled and Professional features will be downgraded to the Starter tier. No data is deleted on downgrade — access is restored if payment is successfully collected on a future retry.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, access to Professional features continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are given for unused time within a billing period.

Refund Policy

All sales are final. Refunds are not provided for any subscription payments. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the Professional features you paid for, contact the site owner and each case will be reviewed individually.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The probe results are a snapshot of what a mail server returned at the time of the check; they are not a guarantee of mail server behaviour in production. The site owner is not responsible for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
