Is the core tool really free?
Yes. The helocheck probe — entering a hostname and seeing the SMTP banner, capabilities, and timing — is free and does not require an account.
When will the Pro features be available?
The features marked "Planned" are under development. There is no release date yet. When they are ready, this page will be updated and the Subscribe button will be enabled.
Will there be a free trial of Pro?
That has not been decided. Pricing may change before launch.
What is the difference between the Pro features and what I can do with a terminal?
The planned Pro features (API access, bulk checks, STARTTLS upgrade test, CSV export) are things you could do manually with
openssl s_client and shell scripting. The Pro plan packages them into a repeatable, structured interface — no flags to remember, no output parsing.Will you ever add scheduled checks or email alerts?
No. helocheck answers when you ask it. It does not send email, run cron jobs, or store results server-side. This is a deliberate design constraint.
Is my data stored when I use the tool?
No. Each probe is independent. The result is shown in your browser and is not stored on any server. There is no database, no accounts, and no history.
